It's a ... wait... girl? It's a girl, right? You aren't kidding this time, are you?

Sorry to have left everyone hanging. That wasn't nice of me.

Yes. While I was in Tennessee visiting my brother Mike, my wife was getting her second ultrasound done at the doctor's office. Although I had told her to call me if she learned anything new from the ultrasound, I did not expect to find out that my "boy" was in reality a girl. I'm sure you can believe that I was surprised.

The funny thing about this it's a boy, it's a girl thing is that I really though from the start that we were going to have a daughter for our first child. When we went to the "Baby Sightings" office to have the first ultrasound, and they said it was a boy, I was strangely disappointed. I had been so sure that it was a girl. Lesson learned here; People who are not doctors may not be as good at telling you the sex of your child through ultrasound.

Altogether, we are very excited. Fortunately we haven't really bought anything that was committed to one way or the other. All we have to do now is pick a name. That and pretty much everything else.

Coming soon to a blog near you. Barny Fife and Roscoe P. Coltrane stop the Duke boys from camping.

I loved the sugar and spice theme! You're going to be an awesome dad for your little girl. Now maybe the name Sue isn't such a bad idea after all... :) Loving you three.
