Today was my first day away from my child. It wasn't easy. It might have been a quicker day for me if the entire days hadn't been about defensive driving. I have nothing against defensive driving techniques, but I was already taught them by my parents. Thus, I was bored. I did pick up a few good tips, which I will likely forget within the week.
Since the driving portion of the lesson was in a van with six other people, I had some time to myself in the back of the vehicle. I spent about 95% of that time staring at the photos of my baby girl I had on my cell phone.
I was treated to a good time of "awake" Lauren for about an hour. If there is something better than playing with your newborn, I haven't done it yet. Tonight, I sleep - except for the 2am diaper change I will likely be performing. Tomorrow, I go to work again. Tomorrow, I will daydream about my Lauren all day. So much for paying attention to my driving.
