When you reach the proper age I will teach you to read and you can turn the pages

Watching my little, 5 week-old girl cough and sputter, and knowing that there wasn't any way for me to make it go away - that is the hardest thing I've ever done. I would have traded places with her in a second. If only I could have made her all better, I would have done it. I guess that's part of being a parent. You do everything that you can, and search out those who can do whatever it is that you can't.

I only hope that I can make the right decisions to help her grow in the best way possible.

A friend of our family bought us a cd that I have grown to love, in a very short time. Sara Groves, Station Wagon: Songs For Parents is a beautiful and encouraging album.

How should I pray for my child?

...I do not know how, how to pray for this child
I want to guard her from everything wicked and wild
but in the trial in the trial
I learned to hold on
And in the trial, in the trial
I learned to hold on to the heart of God
