By this all men will know that you are my disciples

Something has been on my mind, of late. How is it that Christians have come to be known in the world for their scorn? I am fully aware that God told us that we would be hated by the world, as Christ was hated. In the light of what Jesus tells us in John 13:34-35, why are we known for our infighting? Will they know that we are Christians, by our love, by our love? Are we one in the Spirit? I read this article, online. I don't even know how I happened upon it, but I am glad that I did. It challenges me. It makes me think about what I believe. It makes me really work to understand why I feel about things the way I do. I think we all need that. If we are only self-referential, then we can never appreciate what it is that we believe.

The author claims to be a brother in Christ. I'll take him at his word. I'll also continue to challenge myself to hear the Holy Spirit's voice in my day-to-day.

Your thoughts? Everyone is invited.

Now, I'd just like to finish with a beautiful stained-glass window, in the Saint Vitus Cathedral of Prague. Fashioned by Art Nouveau originator, Alphonse Mucha.

Hear what our Lord Jesus Christ saith.
THOU shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
