Possibilities

I have heard through the office grapevine that I may soon be offered a position as a Troubleman, or Trouble-shooter, T-man, whatever you want to call it. Usually, the lineman gossip line is pretty reliable information, so I'm pretty sure that I'll have an opportunity to take it. The only reason that this usually coveted position is being offered to co-workers with such short years of service is that the positions being offered are scheduled to work during alternative hours. I believe that 2 positions are from 12-8pm and another 2 are from 3-11pm. All said, it is an interesting opportunity to learn how another portion of the company works. No guarantees that the job will find me, but I am interested.

One thing that I will be adding to my responsibilities at work is acting as the Industrial Ergonomics Investigator. I think that's the title. Anyway. I'll be going to school for a few days to learn how I can help make work practices a little easier on the bodies of the folks I work with. Evaluating work practices, looking at how work vehicles are set up, and other ergonomic issues will be part of what I get to do for a living.
