I have a report date.
September the 10th, I will be reporting to the Fresno Division Service Center's Compliance Department.
I am both relieved and anxious. Relieved that I won't have to mortgage my retirement savings for an apartment, and that I will be able to live in my mountain home (still on the market - yeah I know it's a bad market). Anxious for the normal reasons: I'll be working for a supervisor I have never met, I'll be working in an area I've never been in before, etc.
I am excited at the prospect of working in the mountains again. The Fresno Compliance Department covers inspections from Kings Canyon and Shaver Lake across to Lemoore and Coalinga.
As I understand it, the Fresno Compliance Department has the largest area to cover in the whole of the entire system.This Labor Day, we'll go up to the house and check things out. I'm sure there's be plenty to spruce up.

MPL - good luck in the new position, and welcome to the Fresno area. Selfishly, I'll remind you that if you tune in to Valley Public Radio while in this area, you'll tune in to 89.3 KVPR instead of 89.1 KPRX.
I'm looking forward to being in the best broadcast area for public radio.
