shut down

Hello all,

I am attending a work conference in preparation for the "end of everything as we know it". It's fairly comprehensive, at a high level - which is to say that I haven't been told much of anything new.

Basically, we're switching over all of our data management to a new program. It will affect EVERY process at work. The poles, pipes, wires, and gas will all still be the same. The changes are all about accounting - which affects everything. After all, isn't the point of a business to make money?

It sounds like the folks at work that deal with computers, paperwork, and the like will be running around like headless chickens for about a week or two.

Some of us are betting that it won't reboot after they shut it down. Keep your fingers crossed!

On an entirely different note : Little L. has been diagnosed with DNS. Thankfully Drippy Nose Syndrome isn't nearly as worrisome as RSV.

Dang you, Nick. You freaked me out when you wrote DNS. I was all worried for the two seconds it took me to read the next sentence.

P.S. Thanks for calling me all the time. Megan and I were talking about how you're such a good brother. I miss you, Nick. Hope to see you soon.

I miss you too, Jimmy. I'm going to call and invite the fam up for a dinner, or stay over, or something soon. I'll call you later.

I'm with James. Don't use acronyms with words like "diagnosed!" That's downright mean! Glad to know that a tissue, a soft shoulder and a rocking chair are all she really needs. Wish we could drop in on that stay over... Love to you all.

yeah, James and I were talking about how you're so good at attempting to keep in touch. The rest of us just seem to be bad at calling you back! School just isn't cool and is taking a lot of time now.. that's my excuse.
anyway, love you Nick! tell R and L hi.
