The Mountain Power Lineman, or The Valley Compliance Inspector Guy Thingie Whatever

I apologize for my lack of presence on the blog. Lately, I have had a lot on my mind. I would have blogged about something that was on my mind, but I wasn't ready to share. I'll share it with you now.

I have accepted a job transfer to the Bakersfield Service Center as a Compliance Inspector.

I don't know when I will be reporting to Bakersfield. Chances are that it won't be right away. We are a few workers short in the Oakhurst yard, and winter is on its way.

Right now I'm feeling both excited and anxious. I am looking forward to having family close at hand. I can't wait to be back at my home church. I have been missing so many things about Bakersfield. For many, that may seem like a strange thing to say. I suppose that you have to be from Bakersfield to feel about it in that way.

This was one of the most difficult decisions I've ever had to make. My wife and I were both feeling somewhat ambivalent about moving. We could have stayed here in the woods, and felt perfectly at peace with it. We also felt good about moving back to Bakersfield. The choice was made. I couldn't feel better about it.
Bakersfield bound.
