R. here, with a little request on behalf of L.
Call me paranoid. I don't really care. I haven't ever been fond of having L.'s photos on the internet. Or mine. You may or may not have noticed that there are no photos of me on this blog that show my entire face (half covered by glasses, yes. Whole face, no). I knew that N. (aka Mountain Power Lineman) posted photos on his flikr site that included L. and I. We did it because we wanted our friends to see L. and share in the joy of her birth. We aren't sharing anymore, at least not in this forum.
We have removed access to our family photos at this time in order to preserve L.'s privacy. I know she may grow into a teenager with no qualms about having her face on the internet, but for now, we will be respecting her privacy. This decision has been confirmed by a couple of blogs I read this week. If you don't mind the language, read here. If you are actually interested in some recent photos of L., please email us and we will send some or figure out how to allow access to our private photos online.
Here's where you come in... we would like to ask that if you have any photos of L. that can be publicly viewed that you please remove them. Today, if you please. Thanks, you're the best, you rock, gracias, merci, mahalo, and shterakravetsun. You have our enduring gratitude.

Hello, all. This is the Mountain Power Lineman. I know that this will make photo sharing just slightly less instantaneous. But, in light of the abuse that personal photos can undergo when online, this is the stance we're taking as a family. Any of our friends or family can send us an email request for photos. We're just asking that you not repost them on the internet.
I may be a little paranoid, myself. It may be in part due to the book I leafed through in the Barnes & Noble this morning. The Sociopath Next Door. I think I'm going to buy it some time soon.
Dr. Stout claims that 1 in 25 people would be classified as sociopaths. People without conscience. People who experience nothing resembling remorse. Scary people.

Oh, we TOTALLY understand! And I try not to post photos of our children at all, though I recently posted photos of them from a distance, from behind, where you get more of a "feel" from the picture than any ability to actually identify them in public. What a sad world we live in, that posting a photo of a sweet babe can actually serve as a bit of a threat to them. And yet, live in it (wisely) we must...

maybe you don't feel the security if beefy enough or didn't know, but theres a pretty simple way to keep your pictures unaccessable to the public on flickr unless they're logged into their acccount and they've been approved by you to see the pictures.
