I currently live in the Central Sierra Nevada, near Mariposa (think Yosemite). As a result, I have had some interesting experiences while going about everyday life.
Monday, I went to the front door to put on my boots before leaving for work. I opened the front door, and looked around on the porch. No boots to be seen. I chalked it up to my absent-mindedness and walked to my work truck, in my socks, to put on my backup pair of boots.
After a fruitless search for the boots Monday night, I resigned myself to wearing my heavier pair of Lineboots.
This morning I went to the front door to put on my boots and head to work. Lo and behold. One, lonely lineboot sitting next to my potted fern. Something foul was afoot! (yes that was a pun, and a bad one at that) Luckily, I have yet another pair of heavy lineboots. They're older, and in need of refurbishing. Which is why I had them in a box in the garage.
I put on my oldest pair of boots, cranked up the trouble-rig, and pulled down the street. Hold it!
What's that in the middle of the road, looking strangely familiar? It couldn't be. It is. The other half of my set of Hoffman/Danner Trooper Lineboots.
So I picked up my boot, and put it back at the house. I think that the first pair of boots is a goner. They're just a pair of slip-on Timberland boots, and they don't weigh very much. I mention weight, because my Hoffman/Danner Trooper Lineboots weigh about 4 to 5 pounds, each. I think that the culprit was able to make off with the first pair of boots without much trouble. I think the second pair was just too much to bother with. I picture an animal lugging around my boots into the street, only to give up with a shrug.
That's why I'm plugging the Hoffman/Danner Trooper Lineboot today. If what you're looking for, is a boot so heavy that wild animals can't drag it away, this is the boot for you.

Greetings dear nephew! Wondering if you will be in/around Fresno this weekend? I will be hanging out with Gramma Nadine Friday-Sunday and would love to meet up with your dear family if at all possible. Holly is coming too but that part is a surprise to Gma. Fortunately, she doesn't surf the WEB so she won't know until Holly greets her on Thursday. Call me at home tonight.
