Temp Power

As I promised, here are some photos of the temporary substation that we created out of some generators and transformers. Keep in mind, this setup actually powered a community of some 1500 customers. To be honest, I was betting on catastrophic failure. I suppose that it's good that I was wrong. The generators we rented each weigh 90,000, and consume diesel fuel on the order of 50 gallons an hour. The transformers we used to "transform" the power from 480 volts to 21,000 volts can handle 2500 kVA (killivolt amperes) of load, each. Also, each of the wires in that massive jumbled pile are about 1.25" diameter of solid copper. The real doozy was that we dismantled the whole thing in one day. As I promised, here are the pics
